Triton Containers carry message of hope and health across the world

The focus

Between 2020 and 2022, sought to support the lifesaving efforts of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). MSF provides medical humanitarian aid in over 70 countries, responding to emergencies, including armed conflicts, natural disasters, epidemics, and exclusion from healthcare. Triton recognized an opportunity to use its global reach to help raise awareness and funding for MSF’s mission. The challenge was to create a campaign that could effectively mobilize public engagement and corporate support while leveraging Triton’s existing logistical infrastructure.

Our efforts

In response, Triton launched the #Triton4MSF campaign, a global initiative combining physical intermodal advertising with social media engagement. Triton commissioned special-edition, refrigerated containers adorned with compelling photographs and original artwork depicting MSF's humanitarian efforts.

Triton developed an interactive social media component to further drive engagement, encouraging individuals to "Snap and Share" images of the containers in transit. For each original photo posted with the hashtag #Triton4MSF on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, Triton pledged to donate $100 to MSF, committing to contribute up to $50,000 annually. Over three years, Triton donated more than $300,000 to support MSF’s mission.

Triton’s global customer base was encouraged to integrate the campaign containers into their shipping fleets, amplifying the initiative’s visibility while inviting employees and colleagues to participate in the Snap & Share initiative. With the help of Tritons shipping line partners, these intermodal billboards traveled across global trade routes, carrying messages of hope and health around the world.

The impact

Throughout the campaign, Triton’s initiative successfully mobilized global awareness and financial support for MSF. The #Triton4MSF containers traveled across international supply chains, transforming standard shipping units into moving messages of humanitarian relief. The Snap & Share initiative generated social media engagement, inspiring individuals from diverse industries to contribute by sharing their encounters with the campaign containers.

In addition, Maersk Container Industries (MCI), the manufacturer of the special edition containers, supported the initiative by donating services for artwork application and contributing an extra $10,000 to MSF.

Beyond financial contributions, #Triton4MSF underscored the power of global trade in fostering social good, demonstrating how corporations can leverage their logistical networks to create meaningful impact. By uniting logistics, social media, and humanitarian aid, Triton supported MSF’s critical mission and set a precedent for how global businesses can take active roles in addressing pressing global challenges.
